ASP (Appalachia Service Project) is a hands-on home-repair ministry that is sponsored locally by Jesse Lee Church. It makes a huge difference for families who live in the mountains of West Virginia, Kentucky, Virginia, Tennessee and North Carolina, some of the most poverty-stricken areas of our country. We work not only to make their homes warmer, safer and drier but also to give them hope.
Jesse Lee ASP is open to anyone who will have completed their freshman year of high school. Adults are encouraged to volunteer – both those who have teens participating and those who don’t. You don’t have to be a member of Jesse Lee or any church, you don’t have to live in Ridgefield, and you don’t need to be an expert with a hammer. Prior to our nine-day trip, each volunteer must participate in an extensive power tool safety training, cultural education and fund raising program.
Countdown until ASP 2021!
